Holmlands Adventure Film Festival
The Buccleuch Centre - Langholm - 10th September 2026

On Thursday 10th September 2026, we were proud to bring Holmlands Adventure Film Festival to The Buccleuch Centre in Langholm for a special evening celebrating independent adventure filmmaking from around the world.

Audiences joined us in the Borders to experience six films on the big screen, including three UK Premieres, with stories spanning mountaineering, adaptive mountain biking, expedition, trail running, surfing and mountain biking.

​

The evening featured The Extra Mile, Best Day Ever, Sand, Grit and Discovery: The Crescent Crossing, The Long Way Home, Northbound and Moving Stories – Langholm MTB, bringing together a diverse collection of adventure stories from across the world.

​

It was particularly special to give Moving Stories – Langholm MTB its UK Premiere on the big screen in Langholm, celebrating the local mountain biking community and the people and places at the heart of the film.

​

It was brilliant to see the theatre filled with adventurers, friends and film lovers, and to bring the festival to a new audience in Langholm as part of our 2026 programme, with a fantastic atmosphere inside the theatre.
