Our Paralympic heroes were welcomed at the Guildhall Art Gallery in London last week by Patron of Disability Snowsport UK, Pippa Middleton - to celebrate their success in South Korea.

Holmlands athletes, Chris Lloyd and Millie Knight were joined by their ParalympicsGB teammates to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the team at the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games in PyeongChang; and to recognise the exceptional work of Disability Snowsport UK in making snowsports accessible to people of all disabilities.

The 2018 Paralympic Winter Games were officially the most successful in ParalympicsGB's history, with a medal haul of one gold, four silver and two bronze medals.

Pippa said in her speech “I am reminded that the journey towards becoming an Alpine Paralympian begins with the decision to try snowsports in the first place. And, having acquired a taste for thrill and exhilaration of the mountains, then finding the right path towards a Paralympic medal. In many cases, that path, and the support it that it requires, has been provided by Disability Snowsport UK.

“The work of DSUK changes and enhances people’s lives, and I am not simply referring to the disabled community. Those, like me, who get involved as volunteers get every bit as much enjoyment and satisfaction from participating in the charity’s work. It is truly wonderful, and I am honoured to be Patron of DSUK."

Holmlands helped establish coverage of the event with Hello! Magazine, with Millie Knight praising the support of Pippa.

Millie says "Pippa’s a great supporter of the charity and helps to raise awareness of their vital work to create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. It’s great to see her and celebrate our success in South Korea – and show her my Paralympic medals!”
