Hoji joins Holmlands in Reykjavik
Our 2018 Matchstick Productions film series concluded with the Icelandic Premiere of "HOJI" in Reykjavik last week, as we had the privilege of being joined in Iceland by the star of the show - Eric 'Hoji' Hjorleifson himself.
Eric, is a free skiing legend, who has been filming annually with Matchstick Productions since 2004.
A Canadian by birth, Eric visited the country of his ancestors for the very first time, in what was the last stop on his global tour before returning home to Whistler, British Columbia.
Ahead of the packed premiere, we invited a small number of guests to attend a VIP poster signing at the flagship Fjallakofinn store in Kringlan.
Ski fanatics young and old had the chance to meet Eric one on one to ask questions, get a personlised movie poster and relax with some snacks and a festive drink - with the team from Fjallakofinn on hand to discuss the latest back-country equipment.
The screening itself saw Eric introduce the film and hold a special post screening Q&A, as more posters were signed and selfies were taken with fans.
"HOJI", followed our screening of "ALL IN" which also premiered in Iceland this November, with our events gaining wide spread media coverage with national newspaper MBL and TV network Hringbraut.
Our Founder and Director Cameron Hall was interviewed on TV ahead of ALL IN and Eric was whisked straight to the TV studio from the airport to discuss his self titled movie and his Icelandic roots.
Both screenings proved to be a huge hit with everyone who attended, with each event complimented by our signature prize draw, helping to equip the crowd with outdoor goodies and passes ahead of the new winter season.
