Holmlands Adventure Film Festival 2026: Official Selection Announced

We’re delighted to announce the Official Selection for Holmlands Adventure Film Festival 2026, bringing together an extraordinary collection of independent films celebrating adventure, exploration, wildlife and the natural world.


After months of submissions and careful curation, 37 films have been selected for this year’s festival, showcasing remarkable journeys, wild places, extraordinary people and stories from across the adventure filmmaking community - including more than a dozen UK premieres, giving audiences the opportunity to discover a host of films making their first public appearance in the UK.


The 2026 Official Selection will be presented through a combination of live screenings in London, Langholm and Cumbria, alongside a forthcoming ticketed online festival player, giving audiences around the world the opportunity to experience the full Official Selection.


We're also hoping to welcome a number of the filmmakers in person at our events, with Q&As planned at selected screenings where schedules allow. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for further announcements and updates.

Holmlands Adventure Film Festival 2026

September 3RD & 4TH, LONDON


Our headline festival screenings take place at the beautiful Charlotte Street Hotel in central London, with two evenings of carefully curated films, including a diverse mix of adventure stories, and several UK Premiere screenings (with all premieres marked with a *)


Thursday 3rd September

  • Hunter's Moon *— Skiing

  • One Breath * — Free Diving

  • Volver a mí *— Climbing

  • The Itinerant * — Trail Running


Friday 4th September


  • A Baffin Vacation, Love on Ice — Winter Expedition

  • Dick's-A-Thon * — Running

  • Birdlife * — Wingsuit Flying

  • Born of Ice * — Whitewater Kayaking

  • Kids * — Skiing

  • La Trace * — Winter Expedition

  • Road 138 — Running

September 10TH, Langholm, Scotland


We're delighted to take Holmlands Adventure Film Festival to The Buccleuch Centre in Langholm, bringing a specially curated programme to the Scottish Borders. We're particularly excited to be screening Moving Stories – Langholm MTB for the first time on the big screen in it's home town, alongside a programme that includes trail running, mountain biking, surfing, mountaineering and expedition storytelling.

September 18TH, Wreay, Cumbria


The festival then heads to Wreay Village Hall, bringing adventure filmmaking to a passionate outdoor community on the edge of the Lake District National Park. From cycling and hiking to conservation, sailing and trail running, the Wreay programme celebrates a broad range of stories connected to the outdoors and the natural world.

The films above form our live screening programme, but all 37 films selected for Holmlands Adventure Film Festival 2026 will be available through our forthcoming ticketed online festival player.


The online programme will allow audiences who can't attend one of our live events to experience the full breadth of this year's Official Selection from wherever they are in the world.


The player will be ticketed and access-controlled, rather than publicly available, helping us protect filmmakers' work while making the festival accessible to a much wider audience.

These films join the live programme to complete the 37-film Official Selection.

Every film in the Official Selection is automatically eligible for consideration across our ten festival award categories, celebrating excellence in adventure filmmaking, with finalists and award winners will be announced following the conclusion of this year's festival programme.


We're incredibly grateful to every filmmaker who entrusted us with their work, and we're excited to introduce their stories to audiences in London, Langholm, Cumbria and around the world.
