Following the launch of its headline London event, Holmlands Adventure Film Festival is expanding this September with two additional community screenings, bringing inspiring adventure storytelling to audiences in the Scottish Borders and Cumbria.

We're delighted to announce that the 2026 festival will now include special screenings at The Buccleuch Centre, Langholm on Thursday 10th September, and Wreay Village Hall, near Carlisle, on Friday 18th September.

The new events build on the festival's flagship screenings at the luxurious Charlotte Street Hotel in Central London on 3rd and 4th September, creating opportunities for even more people to experience a carefully curated programme of films celebrating adventure, exploration, wildlife and the natural world.

While London provides a wonderful setting for our headline screenings, we're equally passionate about taking inspiring films beyond the city and into communities with a genuine love of the outdoors, travel and adventure.

By hosting additional screenings in Langholm and Wreay, we're creating welcoming evenings where audiences can come together to enjoy exceptional filmmaking, discover remarkable journeys and celebrate the spirit of adventure on the big screen.

Each screening will feature a selection of films from the Official Selection of the 2026 Holmlands Adventure Film Festival.

With submissions already received from filmmakers across 25 countries, audiences can look forward to an inspiring programme showcasing extraordinary people, wild places and powerful storytelling from around the world.

The full programme will be announced following the close of submissions on 31st July.

Alongside the festival, we're developing plans for an online festival player, extending the reach of the Official Selection beyond September and creating year-round opportunities for filmmakers, audiences and partners to engage with the festival wherever they are in the world. Stay tuned for more details, coming soon...
