Seeking Asgard Kickstarter campaign launch

We are excited to release the official trailer for our latest film project "Seeking Asgard: Ski Life Stories from Iceland " - alongside the launch of a Kickstarter campaign to help us complete the finishing touches of our new feature length documentary.

The project itself explores Icelandic ski culture from a human interest perspective; getting to know the personal stories of some of the countries most pioneering outdoor industry figures - all of whom have helped to push the boundaries of skiing in Iceland to new levels, through adventure, exploration and hard work.

Shot in April 2022 over three weeks, we circumnavigated the country holding interviews in all four corners of Iceland - travelling to Ísafjörður in the West, Eskifjörður in the East, Dalvik in the North and Reykjavík in the South, covering over 3000km.

The series of interviews focuses on personal stories - including relationships between fathers and sons, female empowerment in the outdoor industry, overcoming life threatening injuries and conversations around the effects and impact climate change is having on the country as a whole - and ski industry specifically.

Showcasing the sport in various ways, interviews take place on sail boats, shorelines and mountain tops as we also celebrate the passion and deep rooted connection Icelanders hold for the natural environment.

We believe the stories of the people featured will inspire and empower viewers of the film worldwide - and draw further attention to importance of working together as an outdoor community to help protect our winters in the waking threat of global warming.

We are seeking to raise £15,000 before November 1st and with your support, this Kickstarter campaign will enable us to complete the remaining post production work required - including aspects of masking, colour grading and sound engineering.

With the project aiming to run towards a feature length runtime, your contributions will also enable us to undertake the extensive subtitling work required - so we can ensure everyone can enjoy the film, including the hard of hearing.

Further funding will also help us to hold screening events in the UK and in Iceland, alongside submitting the project to a variety of adventure sports, mountain and environmental film festivals - to fully maximise reach and exposure.

We have put some deep thought into the rewards available in return for your generous support of our vision - with both supporter and brand level packages available.

We've shared a little teaser video below to give you a taste of the project with more photos and behind the scenes content across our social media channels! We'd also love to connect with you on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, where you can follow the project using the hashtag #SeekingAsgard

Prior to launching this Kickstarter campaign, the project has been entirely self funded - with elements of logistical support provided by CampEasy Iceland and The Sick and the Wrong.

Friends of Holmlands can also experience Iceland with CampEasy and SAVE 10% on all bookings using the code ASGARD when booking online here.

With your help and support, we can finish the film and hopefully you can help us meet and surpass our target and enable us to share the project with the world!
